Alajero:
The villaje of Alajeró is located in part of the ancient aboriginal territories of Hispalán and Orone, in the southwestern part of La Gomera. The Santiago ravine forms the boundary of San Sebastián dividing Playa Santiago in two administrative districts, Lomada de Tecina and Laguna de Santiago.
Of artistic interest in this area are the Church of El Salvador del Mundo, home to an exquisite façade and lovely wood carving of Christ dated from the XVII Century, and the Hermitage of San Lorenzo, situated next to the Herques ravine. Natural attractions include the particular geology and fauna of the coastal area, and the calm and crystal clear waters off the beaches at Santiago or Erese. One of the few specimens of the drago tree found on the island grows here close to Agalán.
